The cow and the wolf |
Uncle Hosein had a big milky cow. The cow had long sharp horns. When the cow went mad it would point his horns to anything around him. Few times Uncle Hosein wanted to dehorn the cow. However, he had been busy and couldn’t find time to do so. The cow had a calf. One day Uncle Hosein asked his daughter, Maryam to walk the cow and its calf out to graze. Maryam took the cow and its calf to the river side. Few minutes later Maryam saw something was moving behind the canes. She thought, it could be her dog, the white wolf. White wolf, white wolf … She called out loudly. |

Suddenly, the cow ran toward Maryam and the calf. Maryam was terrified. She stepped back and stopped at a tree. The calf stood beside her. The cow positioned itself and got set to attack. The animal in the canes now was close. It was a wolf and not the white wolf. The wolf jumped over the cow’s head, but the cow’s horns pushed the wolf’s tummy. The wolf quickly sat back and ran away. Maryam had been saved. Uncle Hosein was glad and thanked God that he didn’t dehorn the cow. |
